1. Make sure the dog is relaxed before you meet with the vet.
For example, right after a walk or sniffing around in the garden.
2. Avoid waiting too long at the vet. Report your arrival at the reception and only pick up your dog when you are about to enter the consultation.
3. Bring lots of treats for your dog to eat while visiting the vet. This will help your dog relax and shift their focus, making the vet experience a good one.
4. It is also important that you as the owner relax and be calm, your dog will notice this and it will not become unnecessarily stressed and insecure.
5. Tell the staff/veterinarian if there is anything your dog is particularly uncomfortable with.
